A Wellis Swim Spa is a hybrid between a hot tub and a swimming pool. It combines a full-size hot tub section with massage jets and hydrotherapy seats together with a larger swim zone that features a continuous counter-current generator — allowing endless swimming against the current in a compact 4.5 to 6 metre unit.

W-Flow is Wellis' standard swim current system using 4 to 6 adjustable jets powered by the main pumps. RiverJet is the premium option — a dedicated swim pump that generates a wider, smoother, and significantly more powerful laminar current, designed for serious swim training and triathlon preparation.

Wellis Swim Spas are available in three lengths: Elba at 4.5 metres (most compact), Danube and Beach Club at 5.5 to 5.9 metres, and Amazonas and Rio Grande at 6 metres. All models are around 2.3 metres wide and 1.4 metres deep.

In most German federal states (Bundesländer), outdoor swim spas under 100 m³ water volume are treated as movable installations rather than pools and do not require a building permit (Baugenehmigung). Wellis Swim Spas hold 6,000 to 8,500 litres — well below this threshold. Always check local municipality (Gemeinde) rules before installation.
